Baalbek

Baalbek is my first full 3D environment, created over the last four months. It’s inspired by the ancient ruins from my home country, reimagined in a post-apocalyptic desert setting.
I created every part of this environment myself except for the terrain sand materials and vegetation, which are from Quixel Megascans. This project was an incredibly meaningful and challenging journey, and I’m excited to finally share the full breakdowns and videos.

Special thanks to Robert Münzinger for his mentorship and the extensive feedback he provided throughout the entire project.

All the stones are done using two tileable stone textures in a World Aligned Texture setup. Each set of props had one NMAO texture as following: RG = Normals | B = Mask (Normal/Destroyed stone) | A = AO
